Description
The Sebil was built by the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent (reigned 1520-1566) and it is located on the Hebron Road outside Jerusalem's city walls. The Sebil is a small kiosk where water is freely dispensed to members of the public. Historically, it is a structure of both civic and religious importance in Muslim cities, most characteristically under the Ottoman Empire.
