Description
Nazareth is still a thriving town in Holy Land and was the place of Jesus' childhood.
Nazareth, the home of the heavenly announcement. Mary is visited by Gabriel, the Archangel, and told of the great things that would befall her.
She will bear a child who is destined to save the world (Luke 1:26-35). Her surprise, Joseph's embarrassment, and her eulogy of praise are all recorded in the early narrative of the synoptic Gospels, that is, Matthew, Mark and Luke (Luke 1:46-55).
Jesus, her son to be born, is of the line of David and of the direct line that goes back to Adam (Matthew 1:1-16). He is thus a Son of Man; a Son of Israel; a Son of David; and by virgin birth, a Son of God.
Nazareth, after His birth in Bethlehem, became His hometown (Matthew 2:19-23).
